║ The following directions were taken from the original ║
║ HS-TELIX.DOC provided by Mr. Smith for use with the ║
║ DOS BATCH files he provides. The batch files work fine ║
║ but don't give you any "Log" info in your Telix Usage ║
║ Log, and only "raw" info in your DSZLOG file. I modified ║
║ these directions to indicate the installation of the ║
║ script I wrote. As always... ║
║ ║
║ !! READ YOUR DOCUMENTATION BEFORE YOU USE YOUR SOFTWARE !! ║
║ ║
║ Yes, I know a lot of it seems like it was written in ║
║ Japanese, then translated by a Ukranian into French ║
║ for an Italian to translate into English (and "we" speak ║
║ AMERICAN !?) ! BUT you just might catch a problem ║
║ before it occurs ! ║

USING TELIX WITH EXTERNAL HS/LINK
Installation:
Please refer to the TELIX manual for detailed information on
installation of external protocols. The following installation
steps should work for most folks...
Copy the provided "HS-D.SLC" and "HSLINK.EXE" into your TELIX
directory, or into a directory included in your search PATH.
Copy the included "HS-D.SLT" source file into the directory
where you keep your script sources.
You can edit the HS-D.SLT to include (and/or remove) options
to the HSLINK command line. If you want to experiment, there
are a number of optional parameters you can read about in
HSLINK.DOC and HSLINK.NEW.
Next you need to install the HS/LINK protocol into the TELIX
protocol menu...
Load up TELIX and press ALT-O to get into the CONFIGURE menu...
Cursor down to the PROTOCOL OPTIONS selection and press ENTER...
In this screen, you press A (B, or C if you already have other
external protocols configured)...
When asked for "KEY" enter "H"...
When asked for "PROTOCOL NAME" enter "HS/Link"...
When asked for "UPLOAD FILENAME" enter "HS-D.SLC"...
When asked for "DOWNLOAD FILENAME" enter "HS-D.SLC"...
When asked for "BAT or SCRIPT" select "SCRIPT FILE"...
When asked "Should TELIX ask for filenames on download?" select "NO"...
Then press ENTER to get out of this screen and cursor down to
"WRITE SETUP TO DISK" and press ENTER to save your changes.
To download with HS/LINK, first you tell the BBS you're talking to
what files you want to download, and that you want to download in
the HS/LINK protocol. On the Tool Shop you can do this with the
following command:
D H <filename filename> S
for example,
D H TOOLSHOP.EXE HSLINK10.ZIP S
Once you've got the BBS into downloading mode, you press the PGDN
key and select the HS/LINK protocol from the menu.
If you want to also UPLOAD to the BBS while DOWNLOADING, you simply
press the PGUP key instead of PGDN when the BBS prompts, then
list the upload filenames you want to have transmitted.
I hope these instructions help, but remember, I can't take
responsibility for any damages resulting from these instructions.
If you get stuck, it always helps to read the DOC files that come
with TELIX and with HSLINK. If all else fails, call up the tool
shop and ask for help on the main board. Either I will help you,
or somebody else will know the answer and give you a hand.
Good luck!
Samuel H. Smith
